|
Dear Friends, Something of global proportions started the night of January 30th, 2008. As Mike Bickle, Director of the International House of Prayer, Kansas City; Lou Engle, Founder of The Call and Graham Power, Director of the Global Day of Prayer stood on stage infront of 600 missions leaders at Call2All Orlando.
You might ask – what is so important about this?
The Prayer And Missions Movements Are Really One
Becuase it marked an historic coming together of the prayer and missions movements. We are used to thinking of them as two separate streams, each specialized and doing their own thing.
I had a deep encounter with the Lord on December 25th, 2006 where God made it clear these are not two streams in His heart, they are one and are meant to function as one and we need to understand them as one.
One Reality In God's Heart
My friend Mike Bickle explains it like this: “Jesus the man who is leading the Great Commission is also Jesus the Great Intercessor – He is one man, and this is one reality in His heart. In God’s heart these two movements are one movement, it’s in man’s eyes they’re two.
“The Father is not sending Jesus back to the earth unless people out of every single ethnos (people group) are crying out for His leadership - that the Spirit and the Bride say come. The Father is saying in essence, you are staying at my right side, until they invite you from every single nation of the earth with passion in a bridal identity crying come, come, come. He’s not coming the second time into a vacuum like He did the first time. The next time He comes they will be crying out in every single group, come Lord Jesus we want your ways.
“The two things will happen simultaneously, the gospel will go to every nation and the prayer movement will go too, preparing the way through fasting and prayer, and then when the gospel goes the people are converted and become worshippers calling out for Jesus’ return. So the missions movement will fuel the prayer movement which will release power back on the missions movement. It’s all one big reality in God’s heart.
"Nothing of this magnitude has ever happened before, where top international missions leaders and international prayer leaders (including 170 CEOs) came together in the same gathering to strategize about how to go forward together."
Next week: find out the practical steps the prayer and missions movements are taking and how you can be involved.
Every Blessing.
Until Everyone is Reached
