Dr. Bill Bright and the Bill Bright Initiative
Dr. Bill Bright, the late cofounder of the Global Pastors Network and founder of Campus Crusade for Christ International (CCCI) is credited with leading more people to Christ than the Apostle Paul.
In the last two years of his life, Dr. Bright cast the vision of reaching one billion people for Christ and planting five million new churches. In the late Spring of 2003, the last few months of his life, Dr. Bright mailed out more than forty batons to key Christian leaders asking them to pick up this vision after he was gone.
On August 19, 2004, a global conference call bought Christian world leaders to agree to work together toward fulfilling the vision of this remarkable man.
On December 7-8, 2004, sixty five world leaders agreed at the Bill Bright Initiative held at CCCI in Orlando to adopt the vision of Five Million New Churches to bring a billion people to Christ as a worthy goal.
Many renowned Christian leaders have now committed to fulfilling this vision and doing it together.
Mark Anderson, now President of the Global Pastors Network has picked up the baton, and is facilitating congresses throughout the globe over the next 2-3 years to strategize in all areas of mission to reach the unreached.
